Abstract floral nail art

 Found myself in front of the computer this afternoon so figured I would post some nail art.

Lately I'm mainly wearing gels (as I'm painting my nails less) but this manicure shows some regular polishes, mainly ILNP Poised. As I find many ILNP to be a bit too sheer, I decided to layer it over a nude. It never looks as nice as it would've done on it's own, but at least I won't have to do four coats for decent coverage.

On top I've done an abstract floral design using acrylic paints.

Abstract Pastel Nail Art Design

Stamping was one of the first nail art techniques I really fell for (as was water marbling). I liked that you could create such detailed designs on both hands without having a very steady hand or great artistic abilities. As I improved my nail art skills I ended up stamping less and less. 

Now I'm starting to appreciate stamping again, as I want to have nice nails, but don't necessarily want to spend too much time doing my nails. I also don't want to have to redo my nails every other night, hence the shift to wearing more gel polishes. Luckily stamping works great with gels, you just cure your coloured layer, remove the sticky residue and then stamp. You can even remove the stamping with some acetone and try again if you don't like the positioning. Finish it off with gel top coat (which magically doesn't smear the stamping!) and you're good to go.

Polishes used: Pink Gellac 289 Breeze Yellow, Pink Gellac 347 Soft Jade, Pink Gellac 145 Gipsy Blue, Pink Gellac 301 Azure Blue and KIKO 374

Double stamped pink nail art design

Long time no seen! It's been almost a year since my last post. I've been exploring new hobbies and haven't wanted to make blogging a chore. Today I felt like posting something so here I am.

This design is an old favourite style, where you stamp each nail twice with the same design but do the second layer slightly shifted, giving it a shadowed effect. Luckily it's also a lot easier to achieve this effect compared to trying to align the second layer perfectly on top of the first.

Polishes used: Pink Gellac 345 Heavenly Pink, Models Own Chrome Rose and MoYou London Sweet Lips.

Spending the evening doing some manual backups of my computer, figured I might as well get a blog post up while waiting for it to finish! Hope you're evening is more exciting than mine ^-^.

These nails are from sometime last year. I used acrylic paints to create an abstract floral design on a base of ILNP Poised.

Jag spenderar min kväll framför datorn med att ta en manuell backup. Verkligen tråkigt arbete men har inte fått till någon bra molnlösning så det är på tiden att jag gör detta! Jag hoppas din kväll är lite mer spännande än min ^-^.

Dagens naglar är från typ förra året tror jag. Jag har använt akrylfärg och målat ett abstrakt blommönster på en bas av ILNP Poised. Den är dock lite väl skir så har grundat med ett OPI lack i matchande färg.

Hearts Nail Art Design

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you are having a good Tuesday and take the chance to tell people you care for (be it in a romantic way or not) how much they mean to you.

This is the nail art I'm currently wearing. I created the design using a Valentine's Day kit that Pink Gellac sent to me (free press sample) that includes a jelly nude, a hot pink and an equally hot red. Both the red and the pink covered in two coats, so if you're looking for some stapler shades this might be a good kit for you. The nude gives very little colour, but works great as a base for negative space designs, or if you just want the protection that gels give you, without adding colour.

Glad alla hjärtans dag! Jag hoppas du har en fin tisdag och tar tillfället i akt att berätta för människor du bryr dig om hur mycket de betyder för dig (oavsett om det är en romantisk relation eller inte).

Dagens nail art är den jag också har på mig idag. Jag fick hem ett Valentine's kit från Pink Gellac (gratis pressprov) som innehöll tre lack, ett hudfärgat nude-lack, ett starkt rosa lack och så ett klarrött. Både det röda och det rosa täcker på två lager så om du är på jakt efter såna här grundfärger så kanske detta kit kan vara för dig. Nude-lacket ger väldigt lite färg men funkar bra som bas för negative-space nagelkonst eller om du vill använda gel för att skydda naglarna lite, utan att behöva ha färgat lack.

Valentine's Day Nail Design

Valentine's Day is just around the corner so today is perfect for posting this heart nail art design. Valentine's Day is one of my favourite occasions for nail art so I usually end up with a few different designs. Let's see what I get around to posting this year!

The hearts are painted with a thin brushes on a nudish base. The silver glitter is a loose glitter that I have added to the sticky layer of the gel polish.

Alla hjärtans dag närmar sig och det är verkligen min favorit när det kommer till nagelinspiration. Tycker alltid det är lätt att få till olika designer med hjärtan och liknande, mer eller mindre sockersött. Får väl se vad jag hinner publicera i år!

Denna design har halvstora hjärtan som jag målat med en tunn pensel på en halvgenomskinlig bas. Silverglittret är ett löst glitter som jag har gnuggat in i gellackets kletiga yta.
