Year in Review, 2015

Nothing like a new year to sum up the old one right? All the nail art I posted on the blog in 2015 can be easily overviewed on Pinterest but today I wanted to show you some highlights.
I will use the same strategy as in 2013 and 2014 and divide this post into three parts.

  • Part one features the three posts that have received the most comments from my lovely reader. Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment! It means so much to me. This year I've seen some new names appear which I really appreciate ^-^.
  • The second three are picked by my favourite everything S, he often enjoys different things from myself so it's always fun getting his take on the year.
  • The final three are my personal favourites.

Usually I include a stash update in my sum up post. This year my nail polish collection has not grown at all actually, I'm at a steady 400 still. Of course I've bought polishes (favourites include the summer collection of FUN and some from the winter collection of ILNP) but I've also let go of quite a bit making sure I keep to my one Helmer.

The other exciting thing that happened to this blog this year was the makeover I did this summer. I spent a few days of my summer holiday tweaking all kinds of html to get it to look just right. I love the look it has now, especially knowing I did it myself but there are still some things I would like to fix, hopefully I can make the time for it soon.

Reader's favourites (images link to original post):

My most commented look of the year is the rainbow look from the 31 Day Challenge. It does have a little bit of everything but it all comes together quite nicely!
Second most commented is this recent winter look! This turned out better than I expected and additionally photographed beautifully which adds to its blogging appeal.
Third favourite is the first day of the 31 Day Challenge where I posted these leadlight roses. Lead lighting is definitely a great way to take stamping to the next level!

Favourites of S (images link to original post):

S took an instant liking to this edgy look I wore to a birthday party earlier this fall. I'm honestly a little surprised by his pick since I thought this was too bold and exaggerated for his taste!
This next look is more what I would've expected S to like. Not too over the top and a more serene colour combination.
Another fun pick! I love the neon roses!

My personal favourites (images link to original post):

Finally my own favourites. I always struggle narrowing it down to three because there are so many aspects to take into consideration. Some looks photographs really well but might not have been something i wore for very long, other looks I might really enjoy but they wear terribly so I have to remove them after just a day or two.

My first pick ended up being really wearable but since it was part of the 31 Day Challenge I had to remove it way too soon. Maybe time to recreate it in 2016?
The following look was a favourite of both S and I. I created it for an origami challenge that MoYou hosted in the fall. Ten stamping decals meticulously painted, this look really took much too long to do! Click on image to see matching origami star and both hands in action.
Finally a look that makes me dream of summer! This washy gradient in neon hues is really a spirit lifter. Makes me wonder why I'm wearing sultry dark nails at the moment...
Apart from the above mentioned nine looks I posted over a hundred more. Let's see what 2016 has to offer!
