NCC presents: Inspired by a book: Me Before You

Now that I got Memoirs of a Geisha out of the way I can continue with what I read later during spring. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes is my third design for the Nail Challenge Collaborative's book month!

I think this is a book that many of you might have heard of or read, it seems to have gained quite a bit of popularity since it came out two years ago. I picked it up because of its popularity. Sadly this was yet another book I wasn't completely satisfied with. In fact, I gave it a 2 out of 5 rating on Goodreads. I expected something else from this book so the light tone sort of fell flat with me, also the characters didn't agree with me too well. Perhaps if I had read this on a beach holiday I would've liked it more, it is to me that kind of read. Anyone else read this and liked it more than me?

This is the cover that I was inspired by. Most parts of this design came together just the way I intended, the background and the pink rounded shape were easy to create, and so was the black tip. The girl and the bird on the other hand were just as difficult to create as I had imagined. Anyone else that thinks she looks a little like a zombie with those arms? Overall I still like this manicure!

Nu när jag har klarat av En geishas memoarer så kan jag fortsätta med vad jag läste senare under våren. Livet efter dig (Me Before You) av Jojo Moyes är min tredje design till Nail Challenge Collaboratives bokmånad!

Jag tror detta är en bok som många kanske har hört talas om eller till och med läst då den verkligen tycks ha blivit populär sedan den kom ut för ett par år sedan. Jag valde den just för sin populäritet. Tyvärr var det här en till bok som jag inte var helt nöjd med. Betyget hos Goodreads blev faktiskt bara 2 av 5. Jag förväntade mig nog något annat från den (både den svenska titeln och omslaget indikerar att det är något annat tycker jag nog) så den lättsamma tonen och de irriterande karaktärerna passade mig inte alls. Kanske om jag läst denna på strandsemestern hade det kanske känts mer rätt. Någon annan som läst denna och gillar den mer än jag?

Så här ser omslaget ut som jag inspirerades av. De flesta delar av designen var enkla att skapa och gick ungefär som planerat. Bakgrunden och den rosa rundningen var enkla att få till, likaså den svarta basen. Flickan och fågeln däremot var lite för svåra för min förmåga, precis som jag misstänkt på förhand. Någon mer som tycker hon ser lite ut som en zombie med de där armarna? Över lag gillar jag dock manikyren!
